Waaaaaa - Brrrrrrrrrr - MMR

Waaaa - Well we worked out the reason for Ben's sleepless nights. We suspect his first back teeth / molers are coming through. His gums are hard and he is constantly shoving things into the back of his mouth and chewing on them. So hopefully they will come through soon and we can all get back to sleep.

Brrrr - Ben has now associated the sound of brrrr with cars (toy ones and real ones) Carol has been playing with him and he has picked up on the brrrr sound. Now whenever he plays with his toy cars he makes this sound and when Nanny and Grandpa took him for a walk the other day every time he saw a car he made the brrrr sound. Very funny.

Harry is still saying 'Ello' all the time, I went shopping the other day and everyone that passed us got a 'Ello' from Harry. Especially the ladies, he is such a tart !

Harry has been quiet clingy this week and had a bit of a temperature. Turns out his first teeth have finally started to come through. Despite this he is sleeping well during the night. Bless him.

MMR - Today I have to take them both for their MMR jabs. I must confess this is very scary, we have friends whose child was really bad after having the jab and you hear such horror stories. Why can't they give these as separate jabs ! It's just to save the government money - Labor is putting our children in danger to save money, that's nice isn't it. I still think Tony Blair ought to tell us what his children had. I bet they had separate jabs.

I will update you on how Harry & Ben react to the jabs later on.

Here are some photos from recent play sessions with the boys.

Harry & Ben caught red handed trying to sneak into the magazine rack corner where they aren't supposed to go. Hence the baby seat barrier (which has now been replaced with a bigger barrier.)

Stourhead Revisited

Had a hectic Easter weekend. Our friend Julia came to stay overnight on Friday. During the day we went shopping in Basingstoke and then Carol and Julia went out for a meal in the local Curry House.

On Monday we went for a picnic at Stourhead
Carol's brother Robert and his family came, his wife Karen and their daughters, Amy, Emma and Heather. Carol's Mum and Dad C' & Terry joined us as well and we had a family day out & Picnic in the grounds of Stourhead.

I love it there, it is so beautiful and scenic, very good for photography. Lots of plants and rare trees, follies and monuments.

Here are the photos:

Cool dude Harry:

Harry having a stretch of his legs, he looks so grown up in this shot.

This weekend also marked the 1st anniversary of the boys coming home for the first time from hospital. It seems such a long time ago now. It was a weird weekend, after all the support from the staff in the neonatal unit, to be suddenly at home flying solo. I remember Carol & I being very scared and repeatedly checking on them throughout the night. They were asleep in moses baskets at the end of our bed, making little hedgehog noises all night long. Needless to say we didn't get any sleep for the first few nights !

Well that's just sick !

Title says it all really !

Ben still isn't well, he has a cold he just can't shift.
After his bedtime milk last night I was burping him and he
did a really big burp and was sick at the sametime, I guess
it kicked his reflux off and he chundered for England.

How can one baby puke sooo much !!!!

Carol caught it all on camera:

Little Monsters

My mum very kindly sent Harry & Ben two little hats for them. She had seen them in a local shop and thought they looked cute and knew that we could do with some more hats. They are black with big monster eyes on the front and red spikey fins running down the back of them. Very funny.
Here is Harry sporting his new hat and Ben moving in to nick it:

Strolling Along....

Since last Friday Harry has made a good recovery and his croup is almost gone. He has also been sleeping very well and we have had good nights sleep from him.

Ben however has been another story.....

His cold hasn't gone and because he is so bunged up he has not been sleeping well at all.

Mum came down to visit yesterday with my neice and nephew, Hannah & Cameron. We had a lovely day. My Sister, Anita sent us some presents, some old toys that belonged to Hannah and Cameron. Some soft material building blocks, a fabric book and a lovely wooden cart with a handle and wooden blocks.

Ben took to the cart straight away and within the space of the afternoon was starting to walk along with it.

This morning Ben walked across the room holding onto & pushing the cart in front of him.

Harry had a go, but he wants to go full speed and just ends up pushing the cart away from him whilst he falls flat on his face. Harry needs to learn to slow down :-)

Here is Ben with a look of triumph on his face after he had just walked across the room pushing the cart.
