Get orf moi land !

We went down to the farm on Friday. Finkley Down Farm to be precise, it is a fun place for the kids to go and enjoy an adventure play ground and feed the farm animals.

Harry & Ben's nieces, Amy, Emma & Heather and Aunty Karen invited us to go with them on Friday and see all the animals.

Harry & Ben's faces where a picture when they saw the Highland Cows !

A load of balls

We went shopping in Basingstoke on Sunday and Carol spotted that Woolworths had a small ball pool and balls set for £6.99 - Well it had to be done really didn't it.

It is a small yellow inflatible pool with 100 balls. But when we filled it up the balls didn't really fill it at all. So I popped down to Tescos and bought a couple of their ball bags ( Behave !) and we now have a ball pool with 300 balls and two very happy little boys.

Harry & Ben played for hours, throwing balls out, throwing them back in. Laying on their backs kicking their legs. But by the end of the days they were knackered, as you can see from their tired little faces below:

By happy accident we found that the ball pool fits inside their play pen perfectly, Daddy can now have fives minutes peace and quiet outside of the lounge knowing that they are perfectly safe for a few minutes !

Beyond a joke

I like sunny days as much as the next guy. But heat / humidity I just can't handle. It would seem that our boys are the same. We all had a lousy nights sleep last night. I really hope this heatwave ends soon. It's just no fun at all.

Too hot to sit here in front of my PC for too long. Will write soon.

Cheers Si.

Sleepy little bear

Ben is happy to go without his morning sleep now. The boys have switched to only having a two hour sleep in the afternoons.

But the other day, they woke up early and by mid morning they were tired. So they had a little sleep.

During the afternoon they didn't want a second sleep, so they played on and on.

By tea time, they were both knackered. Ben was still fighting it and wouldn't admit to being tired, but it was all too much for little Harry

On The Beach

Well here they are finally, the photos of Harry & Ben and their first day on the beach.

We bought the boys two tricycles for them to go on, to give them a break from the pram. They love their trikes :-)

On - Doo - Hee .......Yea!

Carol has been playing with Harry, stacking soft play blocks and counting 1-2-3. Harry has picked up on this and now copies what Carol is saying. As he stacks the blocks he says : On - Doo - Hee and then clenches his fists above his head and shouts YEA! because he knows he is being clever.

Obviously he can't count yet, that would be much too advanced for a 17 month old !
But it is very funny that he is copying what we are saying and knows that he is being clever.

Very sweet.

Ben's forehead is healing nicely, the scab has gone and the scar tissue has almost disappeared completely. Ben's sense of humour is very good, he finds humour in so many things and giggles to himself. He loves it when you copy his actions and when you chase him round the room on all fours, that's just the funniest thing in the world and he squeals in delight.

It's been so hot this week, they have both been pretty listless and grumpy, but still good natured most of the time. They have stopped sleeping in the mornings now, but they will sleep for about two to two and a half hours just after lunch, in their cots.

Tescos have finally finished my replacement photo CD of our holiday photos and I will put on a selection of these photos tonight.
