Bank Holiday Weekend

Time is flying by and again I haven't written for a while. So here goes another catch up session.

The Bank Holiday Weekend was good for several reasons;

1) It meant that the boys and I got Carol for three whole days - Yeah !
2) It was Carol's Dad's birthday - Hurrah !

So we met up with Carol's Mum & Dad at 'The Vyne' a National Trust house. Carol's brother Robert and his family joined us as well and we all went for a meal in their restaurant which is very nice.

Here are some photos taken that day:

On Bank Holiday Monday the boys and I took Carol to Finkley Down Farm as she missed out on our trip there the other week. The boys love seeing all the animals :-)

Little Boys Blue

Here I am again, writing another weeks worth of news. It's been busy and it isn't always easy finding time to write our blog.

Harry & Ben are progressing nicely with finger foods and seem to be enjoying playing with the food as much as eating it.

I used to work in Software support as a Premium Support Analyst and the company I worked for was based in the US and I obviously worked in the UK branch. I made some good friends over in the US and one of the guys Joe and his family were very kind and sent two lovely outfits for Harry & Ben shortly after they were born. Being prem, they were small babies and they have only just got big enough to wear the outfits. The outfits are for 6-9 month old babies and Harry & Ben are 19 months old but are now only just big enough for the clothes !

They really are gorgeous outfits and very cute.

Here are some more photos, this time with a different top,

That was the week that was

It's been a busy week and I have not written an update for a while now, so here goes, a bumper update.

At the end of last week my Mum and my nephew Cameron and niece Hannah came to visit again. The boys loved all the attention and I know my Mum, Hannah and Cameron enjoyed themselves as well. It was lovely seeing them and they had a good giggle and Harry & Ben's exploits in the ball pool etc.

On Friday night Julia came over we all went to see Pirates of the Caribbean 2, leaving Carol's Mum & Dad babysitting :-)

On Saturday Carol, Julia and I went to Stourhead to try out the back carriers we have got for the boys. Needless to say they were suprisingly heavy little boys !

Julia volunteered to carry Harry for a while and I took the opportunity to photograph them.

Some of the more unusual flowers at Stourhead

Last week we also had a visit from Carols Uncle and Aunt, Ron & Vicki. They haven't really seen the boys since they were born and they got to spend some quality time with them. Ron & Vicki kindly gave them some money and on Wednesday I took the boys into town and we bought some Mega Blocks. They were playing with some other twins Mega Blocks at our twins group the other day and really seemed to enjoy them. They love the Mega Blocks and have been playing with them none stop for the past two days.

Well that is us all caught up now. As soon as I have some more news, I will update you all asap. Until then TTFN !

Teddy Bears Picnic 2006

On Tuesday the Neonatal unit held their annual teddy bears picnic. This year Carol was able to get time off and joined Harry, Ben and I on a lovely day out.

The weather was a bit weird, Sunny and really hot one minute, over cast and windy the next. But there was no rain and we all had a great time. We were really pleased because some the nurses that we hadn't seen since the boys left SCBU were there and they were able to see how well they had come on; growing up fit and strong and both were walking around the field where the picnic was held.

Harry had a thing for handbags and made several attempts to raid different ladies bags to see what was inside them !

Both boys were smothered with hugs from the nurses which I think they both enjoyed a great deal.

For those of you that like the 'Where's Waldo' books, here is one of our own - Where are Harry, Ben and Carol !

I promise you all three are visible if you look really hard.

Hint: You can't see Carols face as she is bent over :-), Harry is in a grey coloured top and Ben has a yellow top and is with one of the nurses.

Smashing Paul Newmans face in !

Another trip to Tescos rewarded Carol & I with a nice encounter with Mrs Brooks. She is a playschool / pre-school teacher who has taught our neices Amy, Emma and Heather and they all adore her. She has become a family friend and I have to say she is a lovely lady. We have managed to get Harry & Ben signed up for her school and next year they will be able to go for a few hours each week. This will give me time to catch up with house work etc - well that is the theory, let's see if it works.

Now this would have been a good opportunity for Harry and Ben to be really well behaved and make a good impression with Mrs Brooks, but Ben had other ideas.

Whilst we were talking Ben sneaked an arm out and grabbed a tray of Paul Newmans BBQ Sauce, luckily it was almost emtpy. I caught one bottle but the other smashed on the floor and splatted everywhere, smashing Paul Newmans face in on the label of the bottle.

Luckily it didn't get anyone's clothes but it was a close thing !

Boys !
