How tired am I !!!

At the weekend Ben decided that he wasn't going to have his midday nap, he soldiered on bravely but by the time it came for his bedtime milk, he was on his chin strap.

He fell asleep whilst drinking his milk. He was so far gone, I actually cleaned his teeth, carried him up to bed, and put him in his little babygrow sleep bag and he never woke up at all. I can't believe I cleaned his teeth and he never woke up !!!

This photo was taken just after I had brushed his teeth:

Faecal Friday

Last Friday was different to put it mildly. The morning went well the boys played with their Aquadraw, which they absolutely love.

They both had a good midday sleep and in the afternoon we went to visit Carol at work, dropped some stuff of for my brother in law and on the way back arrange with Carol's Mum & Dad for them to come round and spend the evening with us.

So Carol's Mum & Dad arrive at about 4pm and 'Nanny' helps feed the boys their tea. Carol comes home from work and we all go upstairs to get the boys ready for their bath.

I start running the bath and Carol and Nanny get the boys undressed. I ran the bath a little too hot so it takes a few minutes longer to get some cold water in and get the temp just right. At this point I hear a 'Harry!' and I hear Harry say'Oh Dear, Noooo'

So whilst I am in the bathroom, Carol and Nanny have undressed the boys, who are now happily running around the nursery naked. Whilst Carol and Nanny were talking, Harry had snuck off into a corner and 'dropped' what can only be described as an adult sized poo on the floor, this he had done so quietly no one had noticed. Carol turned round and the first thing she saw was Harry walking towards her peeing as he went. As her eyes fell on Harry, she also noticed that there was several poo coloured foot prints left behind in Harrys wake, following the trail he left behind Carol spied the man sized mound Harry had left for us. Yes my delightful son had not only poo'd on the carpet he had stepped in it and was not walking poo across the nursery.

So Carol grabbed Harry just as he was about to sit down and make an even bigger stain on the carpet, whilst Nanny ran after Ben before he could grab and examine Harry's present. It took all of us to clean the boys and keep them detained and clean up the stains with different cleaning products. Grandpa and I bathed the boys whilst Carol and Nanny did their best with the different carpet cleaners and stain removers.

Carol says Harry's face was a picture, 'Oh Dear - Noooooo' how can you be mad at that. Besides he is only little and didn't know he wasn't supposed to do that. Bless him.

Uncle Roberts Birthday

I have a good excuse for not writing for a few days, we've been away !
Harry & Ben's Uncle Robert was 40 last weekend and all of Carol's family went away on a long weekend. We rented a house on the cliffs over looking Salcombe bay in Devon. Now when I say a house, it is doing it an injustice. This place must be worth about £3 million, no I am not joking. We went into the nearest town and looked in the estate agents windows, there were slightly smaller places on sale for around £2.5 million !

So there was Carol & I, Harry & Ben, then Robert and his wife Karen and their three daughters, Amy, Emma & Heather. Then there was Carol's Mum & Dad, and Carol's Nan and last but not least was Carol's other brother John and his partner, Emma.

The directions to the place were spot on, but the journey wasn't easy, very narrow roads, as you'd expect in deepest darkest Devon, and huge hills. By the time we had got to the house all our clutches and engines were smelling strongly.

The house was upside down, with the lounge dining room, conservatory and kitchen, hallway and one bedroom on the top floor. On the next floor down was a laundry room, four double bedrooms. Then on the next floor down from that, (accessed from outside down a path) was separate annex that was another double bedroom.

We all had a great time and really enjoyed the house. We arrived on the Friday afternoon and stayed until Monday morning.

On Saturday we went to a theme park nearby, Woodlands Leisure Park. This was a real giggle, the bit we went to was indoors and large play area, with loads of padded areas and ball pools for little kids, and then large matt slide and drop slides for big kids (ie us the parents). The drop slide was such a laugh, you basic fall a short distance and the wall behind you curls out to form a slide you end up on, you then shoot down it further over a small rise and then fly into a massive ball pool, which you then have to try and climb out of using a cargo net.

Saturday night we paid a lady to come to the house and cater for us. She cooked us a lovely three course meal and we celebrated Roberts 40th in style.

On Sunday we all went out to a nearby hotel for a family Sunday lunch. Harry & Ben were brilliant, we fed them before we set off and they sat in their high chairs and played with their Aquadraw pads beautifully for 2 hours whilst we had our lunch, so well behaved.

Anyway, enough waffle, here are the pictures:

Here is the house:

Cameron & Maisie's Birthday Party

Another catch up blog entry!

My nephew Cameron was another year older the other day. I drove up to Northampton to my Mum's house and my sister and her family came over. Also a friend of the family called Michela and her daughter Maisie came for the day as well. Cameron and Maisie's birthdays are very close to they decided on one day to celebrate both birthdays.

As usual my Mum laid on a lovely day and cooked a great meal. Unfortunately Carol was on a training course in London and couldn't have the day off.

We had a great day and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. I didn't take any photos during the day, but I did shoot some video, here is a still from the video:

A few days later our friend Julia came over to visit for the weekend, we wrapped the boys up warm and walked into town to do some shopping. On the way we stopped and fed the ducks, the boys thought it was great.
