Little Jumps and Leaps of Faith

Ben worked out how to jump last week, just before his first session at play group. He was doing little jumps in the kitchen whilst we were getting their breakfast ready. Within minutes he had taught Harry how to do it as well. So they now both enjoy jumping about !

This week it was their first two solo sessions at playgroup, I had to get them there for the start of the session and then walk away, leaving them with the group leaders, a real leap of faith for me. I hated leaving them behind, although they didn't bat an eyelid and couldn't wait to get going.

Harry & Ben are really enjoying play group, they are going for two morning sessions a week and can't wait to get into the hall to play with their new friends. Ben has already got a girlfriend ! she is a sweet little thing called Jasmine who spent their first session at playgroup following Ben around, walking two steps behind him like a little shadow.

Harry hasn't quite got the grasp of the peddle cars, he keeps saying it's his turn but when he gets to a car all he wants to do is push other children around in it. I can't work out if he is a control freak and wants to be in charge or is subservient :-)

I rather suspect it's the first

Ben has been making lots of sticky pictures, painting glue onto card and then sticking bits and bobs to the glue. Where as Harry likes to crayon more and paint. It is funny watching them they are quite different in what they like doing.

I will take some photos of their erm...artwork and include them next time.

Time flies by at the moment, so much to do. We have workmen starting next week, replacing the fascias and guttering on our home and changing the door lock on the front door (more on that later). So it will be low maintenance and will look smart, then in a couple of months we have other workmen ripping out our tatty en suite bathroom and making it all smart for us. No doubt I will mention this more when it happens.

It was my birthday last week, 39 :-(

Carol had the day off and we were getting ready for the boys second taster session at the playgroup. We got them in their pushchair and I turned round to lock the front door and found that I couldn't get the key to turn. This meant that there was a key in the lock on the inside and it also meant that we were locked out !

So Carol had to take the boys to playgroup on her own whilst I devised a way to break into our home. Which turned out to be scarily easy. I have since fixed this and our house is now very secure. The workmen will be changing the style of our front door lock, so we actually have to lock the door with a key, it won't automatically lock behind us when we pull it closed. This means we will never be locked out again. I got to the playgroup 15 minutes late, which I thought was pretty good going all things considered.

So it was a bit of a stressful start to my birthday. But all in all it was a nice day

Well that is all I have for you this time. Cheers Si.
